Role: Administration Officer, National Parks Partnerships (NPP)

Location: Home-based with occasional UK travel required (not overnight)

Hours: 0.4 FTE (16 hours a week, can be flexibly worked)

Purpose: The Administration Officer has responsibility for supporting the busy NPP team of eleven staff working remotely and across the UK with general administration and operational support.

Salary: £25,000 (pro rata’d to 0.4FTE)

Contract: This role is offered as a fixed term contract until 31st March 2025.

The role
Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, and supporting the Director and Chair, the Administration Officer has responsibility for supporting the busy NPP team of eleven staff working virtually across the UK with general administration and operational support. You will need to form strong working relationships across the team as well as with the NPP Board and staff across other 15 National Parks.

Key duties

Operational support:

  • Supporting the Senior Operations Manager on a range of tasks including FOI administration; database management; IT support; HR and team support.
  • Processing of income/expenditure invoices, invoice scheduling and expenses
  • Database inputting on request

Meetings and events:

  • Overseeing all administration/diary management relating to Board meetings, AGM and all-Park meetings
  • Supporting the Chair & Senior Operations Manager as required on Board administration
  • Taking and circulating of minutes of Board and other meetings
  • Supporting the Senior Operations Manager with sourcing/booking venues for external meetings and related event logistics
  • Diary support for senior team membersOrganising team member travel and accommodation

Administration Officer Requirements

Essential (Experience, skills, abilities and attributes):

  • Experience of supporting event and/or meeting logistics
  • Experience of dealing with confidential information and acting with discretion
  • Experience of undertaking general office administration
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • High level of attention to detail with proven ability to maintain a high standard of accuracy
  • A flexible, collaborative approach and ability to work on your own and to multiple deadlines
  • Comfortable with working from home, with ability to organise your time effectively within a part-time role

Desirable (Experience, skills, abilities and attributes):

  • Experience of maintaining and operating data management systems and undertaking accurate data entry
  • Experience of gathering and collating data
  • Ability to undertake and track financial processes
